Damian Cortes

Damian Cortes Alberti was born in Jujuy, Argentina. He studied at the School of Theatre and the College of Fine Arts of National University of Cordoba.
As a dancer, he was formed in Buenos Aires in places like Colon Theatre, Association ArteXXI (directed by Oscar Araiz) and the National Institute of Arts.
He received the scholarship Fundacion Antorchas for development in contemporary dance for two consecutive periods, 2003-2004,
and also a scholarship from the National Endowment for the Arts, for dance development in 2005.
He studied music (violin, and music theory) for 5 years.
Among his professional experience we can mention his work in “La Piaf” (physical theater, directed by Renata Gatica), doing several shows, like the work “Argentina”, held at the Croatian Theater &TD 2008.
It has been member of Ballet de Bolsillo (directed by Oscar Araiz), Neoclassical Ballet of Buenos Aires (directed by Guido de Benedetti), Company El Escote (directed by Roxana Grinstein), Ballet IUNA (directed by Diana Tehocharidis), Contemporary Ballet of Teatro San Martín (directed by Mauricio Wainrot) RCCL. U.S..
Since January 2009, he is part of the Company Trànsit Dansa directed by choreographer Maria Rovira (Barcelona Spain)
As a teacher He has taught contemporary dance, pilates and physical theater in Argentina, Spain and Croatia.
